Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The epithelial tissues are found on the body's outer surface and line the organs, vessels, and cavities. Epithelial cells constitute a thin cell layer known as the endothelium that adjoins the internal tissue lining of organs such as the brain, lung, skin, and heart. The cells are categorized by the number and structure of the cells on the surface. There are four types of epithelial tissues based on the layer of cells- simple, stratified, and pseudostratified epithelium. There are three types of epithelium based on the shape of the epithelial cells-squamous, cuboidal and columnar epithelium.
