To explain: Whether the modification of amino acid as shown in Fig.4.14 would affect the isoelectric point $\text{(p}I)$ of a peptide.

Concept introduction: The peptide chains are generally modified for their specific purposes. The addition of a positively charged group or negatively charged group would affect the charge of the peptide chain and therefore it will affect the isoelectric point of the peptide.
