Chapter 4, Problem 2PE

(Geometry: great circle distance) The great circle distance is the distance between two points on the surface of a sphere. Let x l ,   y l and x 2 ,   y 2 be the geographical latitude and longitude of two points. The great circle distance between the two points can be computed using the following formula:

d = r a d i u s × arccos ( sin ( x 1 ) × sin ( x 2 ) + cos ( x 1 ) × cos ( x 2 ) × cos ( y 1 y 2 ) )

Write a program that prompts the user to enter the latitude and longitude of two points on the earth in degrees and displays its great circle distance. The average earth radius is 6,378.1 km. The latitude and longitude degrees in the formula are for north and west. Use negative to indicate south and east degrees.

Dijkstra's Algorithm (part 1).  Consider the network shown below, and Dijkstra’s link-state algorithm. Here, we are interested in computing the least cost path from node E (note: the start node here is E) to all other nodes using Dijkstra's algorithm. Using the algorithm statement used in the textbook and its visual representation, complete the "Step 0" row in the table below showing the link state algorithm’s execution by matching the table entries (i), (ii), (iii), and (iv) with their values.  Write down your final [correct] answer, as you‘ll need it for the next question.
