Eating disorders in college would carry discreditable stigmas because they are usually hidden. Discredited stigmas would attach to drinking problems, since those are more obvious. Goffman's ideas could be used to detect and study problems that may be less obvious. There is also a point to be made about “silent disabilities,” inasmuch as they are not evident to those in one's surrounding and can arouse suspicion about the authenticity of such conditions.
