To review:

An experiment using a heavy isotope of nitrogen (¹⁵N₂) and radioactively labeled carbon for determining whether the pea plant–rhizobia interaction is mutualistic.

Introduction:

Mutualism is defined as the interaction between the organisms that symbolizes the benefit of both the organisms. The well-being of two different species is dependent on their interaction as they provide benefit in one way or the other. Rhizobia are the nitrogen-fixing bacteria (diazotrophs) after becoming established inside the root nodules of leguminous plants (pea plants).
