Orbital hybridization related to acidity: The acidity of the proton identified by many factors. One of the factors is hybridization. The negative charge in a sp3 -hybridized orbital is more acidic than the negative charge in a sp2 -hybridized orbital. Because sp2 hybridized orbital is closer to the nucleus than sp3 -hybridized orbital and therefore greater stabilizes a negative charge.
