Step 2: Determine the molar ratio between the substance whose mass is given and the substance whose amount is to be calculated from the balanced chemical equation. Multiply the calculated moles in step 1 by the molar ratio to obtain the unknown amount of the substance.
Step 3: Multiply the amount calculated in step 2 by the molar mass of that substance to calculate the mass. The expression to calculate the mass from the moles of a substance is as follows:
