Concept introduction: In the late Devonian era, the aquatic vertebrates are adapted to terrestrial vertebrates. This adaptation is an important step towards the evolution of modern terrestrial vertebrates. There are three major groups of amniotes. These are reptiles, aves, and mammalia.
