Introduction: Counselors often rationalize differing religious beliefs, sexual orientations, or cultural background referrals as a way to provide the client with the best services. However, such practices may ultimately be discriminatory. The referrals that have common practice among the mental health therapist or counselor at the expense of exploring other responsibilities are called discriminatory referral.
