Explanation of Solution

Using recursion to compute the sum of all elements of an n×n matrix:

• The recursive method “recursive (array, n)” tells how the recursion can be used to compute the sum of all elements of a matrix.
• The below defines “recursive(array, n)”.

Algorithm:

  recursive(array, n)

If(index of array is 0)

    Return (value of sum + value of 0^th index of the array)

Else

    for(execute n-1 times)

        value of sum + sum of all the values in the n^th row
