To determine:
How avoiding assumptions that contribute to the practice of cultural pluralism?
Introduction:
Cultural pluralism: The acceptance of cultural differences, values, and practices (in line with laws and regulations in the society) that an individual or smaller group of a bigger society sustains by the wider culture.
Surface level diversity: Differences that can be easily noticed among the individuals. These can be characteristics such as age, gender, race, ethnicity, etc. which can affect the group’s individuals to create a stereotype even with the first impression. However, these don’t necessarily portray the thoughts or feelings of the observed individuals.
Deep level diversity: These differences refer to more personal characteristics such as beliefs, values, attitude, personality, etc. These, unlike the surface level, can only be determined when the group individuals get to know each other.
