Given Information: Dr. Wood and his investigation team needs to work on a health project for elders but the team is not willing to work with Dr. Wood.
Skills are what leaders can accomplish while traits are who leaders are. Technical skills are useful for lower and middle management and not upper level management. So Dr. Wood should let his members take over technical skills and he also has to be able to listen to their opinions as well. Dr. Wood is not that good in human skills as well. He doesn’t know how to communicate with his team members and he demotivates them at meetings as well. A leader with Conceptual skills are needed for this project. Ability to collect ideas from his members. According to this case Dr. Wood is not a good leader for this project based on his inability in the skills approach.
Dr. Wood s skills approach should change in order to make this project a success.
