The density of the atmosphere increases with altitude.

The density of the atmosphere is inversely proportional to the altitude. From the sea level, 98% of the atmosphere lies within the altitude of about 23 kilometers (16 miles). Also, the atmosphere extends downwards slightly into the empty spaces such as caves and crevices in rocks and soil. The atmosphere creates a sustainable life on the Earth’s surface.
