The principal groups of processes included in fusion welding are listed below:

  2. 2. Resistance welding: This welding process uses the combination of both heat and pressure to achieve coalescence of two metal parts.
  3. 3. Oxyfuel gas welding: This welding process accomplished by a high temperature flame, which is produced by the reaction of various fuels with oxygen.

    • Electron beam welding: In this process, heat used for welding is produced by hitting high-intensity and highly focused steam of electrons against the surface of the work metals.
    • Laser beam welding: In this process, heat used for welding is produced by hitting highly concentrated and focused coherent light beam against the surface of the work metals.
    • Thermit welding: In this process, heat used for welding is produced from the chemical reaction of thermit.
