Concept explainers
To analyze:
The way population of the brown four-fingered skink and the Marianas blue-tailed skink has changed since the 1950’s.
Introduction:
Carlia is the brown four fingered skinks coming from the subfamily Eugongylinae.
The blue-tailed skink is five-lined species of a lizard coming from the family of Scincidae and found commonly in North America.
Explanation of Solution
Brown four-fingered skink population firstly showed no change from 1940 to 1950. Later a slow decrease is seen from the year 1950 to 1970. After 1970 a sharp decreased can be noticed till 1980. The again from 1980 the same trend in decrement of the species is encountered.
Marianas blue-tailed skink population has increased from the year 1940 to 1990. The increase is first slow from 1940 to 1980 but a sharp increment in the species can be seen from 1980 to 1990.
Brown four-fingered skink population has shown a decrement from the year 1940 to 1990.
Marianas blue-tailed skink population has shown an increment from the year 1940 to 1990.
