Introduction: Movement of Na⁺ and K⁺ ions across the membrane generates an action potential that conducts the transfer of signal from an axon to a dendrite in a neuron. Action potential generated on the receptors provides stimulus for neural signal transmission to the brain to sense the change in external environment.
