Introduction:

A menstrual cycle can be defined as the body’s way of preparing for a possible pregnancy in women. In normal cases, the corpus luteum degenerates after 2 weeks of ovulation and the uterine lining breaks down, while the estrogen and progesterone levels decrease. In case these changes occur after the implantation, a spontaneous abortion can occur.
