Integer division:
In Python, “//” operator performs the integer division.
- • This operator is used to divide one number by another number. The result of this integer division is given as a whole number.
- • If the result is a positive value, then the decimal part is truncated.
- • If the result is a negative value, then the decimal part is rounded away from “0” to the nearest integer value.
Example:
Consider the example of integer division as follows:
value = 7 // 2
Explanation:
Here, the value “7” is divided by “2” and the output “3” is stored into variable “value”.
