Introduction:

The root system is a crucial part of all the plants. It is responsible for providing support to the developing plant along with the absorption of nutrients and water from the soil. Specialized vascular tissue system called the xylem is responsible for the transportation of water from the soil to the leaves across the stem. The root is also important for the storage of food and nutrients. In some plants root is also important for vegetative reproduction.
