Factors resulting in interference
- Lock contention is one of the most cases which could cause interference between the transactions.
- While considering both the transactions, the type A transaction is holding a lock and waiting for a write operation to be performed on a disk and other transactions B and C are waiting for a lock to be released by A.
- The calculated throughput is higher than the observed throughput in case of CPU.
- While waiting for the lock to be released from A, it takes some time and hence the number of cycles are wasted...
