Other elements required in lesser quantities are micronutrients. There are nine macronutrients required by plants; “carbon”, “hydrogen”, “oxygen”, “nitrogen”, “potassium”, “magnesium”, “sulfur”, “calcium”, and “phosphorus”. In addition, the eight microelements are “zinc”, “molybdenum”, “boron”, “copper”, “nickel”, “manganese”, “iron”, and “chlorine”.
