There are two theories, which are proposed by the scientists and explain the working of the brain during sleep.
- First theory says that during sleep, the neurons in the brain during the sleep, the brain actively fires the patterns, which cause the memory retention.
- The second theory is exactly opposite to the first one, it says that the brain during sleep causes the shutdown of some of the neurons present in the brain. It allows the neurons to rest and decrease the activity of the unimportant synapse.
