Concept Introduction:
Ionizing radiations have sufficient energy to remove electron from molecules or atoms they strike. Examples for ionizing radiations are X-rays, gamma rays and cosmic rays.
When ionizing radiation penetrates into the body it will ionize the molecules and highly reactive free radicals will be formed which are harmful for the body.
