Answer to Problem 1TYC

The campus sustainability is a program to spread awareness among the students of various organization or institution that help to reduce the environmental problems.

Explanation of Solution

The term sustainability means a balancing act. The ability to sustain the natural properties of environment so that they remain diverse, productive and available indefinitely for the present as well as for future generation also, is sustainable use of natural resources.

The sustainability program that practice in a campus or in an organization is called as campus sustainability. The campus sustainability programs include:

(i) The students promoting the recycling program so the natural resources should be conserved for future use.

(ii) As the environmental issues such as deforestation, pollution is very common and very well understood by the students. So, they are trying to minimize the activities which harm environment and focusing to conserve the resources present in the environment. They are promoting tree plantation in campuses, organic gardens, and restoration of native plants.

(iii) The students are urging their organizations to reduce the use of fossil fuels or those compounds that lead to climate change.

If campus sustainability programs adopted by the student of various organizations or institution, then it will lead to spread the awareness in the population and also reduced the environmental problems.
