Concept introduction:
The process of deletion of T lymphocytes in the thymus that is self-reactive is known as central tolerance. The peripheral tolerance is mediated by the regulatory T cells that suppress CD+ T cells. The apoptosis and negative selection occur in primary lymphoid organs.
