Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The dipeptides that can be formed from serine and cysteine have to be drawn.

Concept introduction:

• Amino acid is a molecule that contains amine functional group and carboxyl functional group.
• Amine functional group is $(-N{H}_2)$ and carboxyl functional group is $(-COOH)$ and a $R$(alkyl) group is considered as side chain, when all these are bonded to same carbon atom.
• In protein the amide bond ($-CO-NH-$ ) can link together with two amino acids to form a peptide bond, by the release of water.
• A dipeptide results from the formation of a peptide bond between the $-N{H}_2$ group of the amino acid and the $-COOH$ group of the second amino acid.
• The peptide chain are named together with the first three letter of the amino acid joined with a hyphen.
