Introduction:
Cartilages are flexible connective tissue that is found in the respiratory tract, especially in the larynx. The larynx is a tube shaped organ found in the anterior side of the neck. It is a tract that separates the pharynx into the esophagus and the trachea. The larynx is mainly involved in breathing and producing sounds. The major cartilages involved in speech are the thyroid, cricoid and arytenoid cartilages.
