Interpretation: Compare and contrast corn-starch with cotton balls, which are made of almost pure cellulose. Involve at least three ways in which they are similar and three ways in which they are different. Discuss aspects you have observed in daily life and aspects on the molecular scale.
Concept Introduction:
Cornstarch, also known as corn flour, is a carbohydrate that is extracted from the endosperm of corn. It has only carbohydrate and no protein and hence is a gluten-free product. Cotton balls are extracted from cotton plant. Their fibers are used to make different clothes and in various other textile industries.
