The reproductive cycle is a series of events that is initiated by Gonadotropin releasing hormone. During the cycle, gametes are produced and mature to be available for the fertilization. It also prepares the body for fertilization. The reproductive cycle involves the ovarian cycle during which the growth and release of the ovum takes place, and the menstrual cycle during which the uterus is prepared for embryo implantation.
