Summary Introduction

Introduction:

At a synapse, a neuron produces certain chemicals that are called neurotransmitters and those chemicals affect the other neurons. The well-known transmitter is nitric oxide (NO). When neurons are stimulated, they produce nitric oxide that dilates the blood vessels, thereby makes it easier for blood to flow to that brain area. Most of the neurotransmitters are synthesized from amino acids that are obtained from protein. Some of the neurotransmitters are acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine.
