Introduction:
The alveoli of the lungs are the site for the gaseous exchange between the inspired air and blood. Alveolar macrophages are found in the alveolar cells. They are found in large numbers in the airways between the numerous alveolar sacs. Lungs have specialized structures and mechanisms to check the entry of any possible foreign particle in the blood along with air.
