Introduction:
HIV attacks the immune system targeting the CD4+ T cells. The virus not only kills but also integrates into these cells overpowering the host’s immune system. This makes the host unable to fight infections if untreated. The HIV infection begins with an early acute infection progressing to a chronic stage which might culminate in the final form of AIDS.
