Classification of birth control methods from the given table based on prevention of ovulation and fertilization.
Given: Table of common birth control methods.
Introduction:
Ovulation is the process of release of mature eggs from the follicles of ovaries. It is guided by the pituitary by Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) produced by the pituitary which stimulates production estrogen. The luteinizing hormone (LH) from the pituitary triggers ovulation and stimulates the production of progesterone. The estrogen and progesterone together prepare the uterus to accept a fertilized egg. Fertilization is the process of zygote formation by the fusion of female gametes from the egg and male gametes from the sperm. By prevention of either ovulation or fertilization, birth control may be achieved successfully.
