Chapter 21, Problem 67E
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: The balanced chemical equation with Lewis dot structure of the given reaction is to be determined; also the reason for the hydroxyl radicals being more toxic on living system than hydroxide ions is to be determined.

Concept Introduction: The hydroxyl radical results in the formation of carboxylic acid radical and the hydroxide ion results in the formation of carboxylic acid ion.

The hydroxyl radical reacts with the molecules of living system to produce more radicals but the hydroxide ion is neutralized by the buffered cell environment.

To determine: The balanced chemical reaction with Lewis dot structures for the given reaction; also the reason for the hydroxyl radicals being more toxic than hydroxide ions on living system.

What is the pH of a 1.0 L buffer made with 0.300 mol of HF (Ka = 6.8 × 10⁻⁴) and 0.200 mol of NaF to which 0.160 mol of NaOH were added?
Can I please get help with this.
Determine if the following salt is neutral, acidic or basic. If acidic or basic, write the appropriate equilibrium equation for the acid or base that exists when the salt is dissolved in aqueous solution. If neutral, simply write only NR. Be sure to include the proper phases for all species within the reaction. N₂H₅ClO₄
