Summary Introduction

Introduction:

If a dog’s foot is vigorously pinched, the flexor muscles contracted in that pinched leg. The extensor muscles of the other three legs are also contracted in order to maintain balance. Simultaneously, extensor muscles of the pinched leg and the flexor muscles of the three other legs are relaxed. This is due to the interneuron of spinal cord receives messages from the sensory neuron of the pinched leg. This interneuron sends message to the motor neurons which is the connection between flexor muscles of pinched leg and extensor muscles of three other legs. At the same time, it sends messages to relax the extensor muscles in the pinched leg and the flexor muscles of three legs.
