Introduction:

Radiation is the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or the movement of high-energy subatomic particles which cause ionization. It may be naturally present in the environment, and also could be a result of man-made activities such as medicinal and industrial activities. Collision with molecules in the atmosphere or in an organism’s body throws out electrons. These interacted electrons become charged particles known as ions. Thus, radiation is responsible for ionizing molecules.
