Case summary:
Patient J is a Spanish-speaking 8-year-old boy who was diagnosed with encephalitis. At times he would become combative and violence with muttering words. He would become calm when he was with an interpreter who speaks Spanish with him. One particular day, the physician who was writing an assessment for this patient complaining about the patient’s behavior without making any attempt to calm it down. The nurse intern knew that she could possibly help in this situation at the same time do not want to show disrespect to the physician.
