To review:
The working of carotid sinus as well as the aortic reflux.
Introduction:
The blood pressure is maintained by the nervous system through the negative feedback loop, which takes place by two kinds of reflexes, namely the chemoreceptor and the baroreceptor reflexes. The baroreceptors are basically the receptors that are sensitive to the pressure. They are found at various sites like aorta and the internal carotid arteries, that is the arteries found on either side of the neck, which supply the blood rich in oxygen to the brain as well as the face. The impulses to the CV (cardiovascular) center are sent by them in order to help in the regulation of the blood pressure. The aortic reflex and the carotid sinus reflex are the two main baroreceptor reflexes.
