Interpretation: A brief report on one of the insecticide-DDT should be written explaining the advantages and disadvantages.
Concept Introduction: Insecticides are used to kill insects. There are ovicides and larvicides which are used against eggs and larvae insects respectively. They are used by consumers in agriculture and medicines. The productivity of crops increases due to use of insecticides as it kills the insect which inhibits the crop growth. Along with this, the use of insecticide is harmful for human health as they can make crop toxic in nature. They are classified into two groups: Systemic and contact.
The systemic insecticides have long term activity and contact insecticides have short-term activity.
Based on composition, insecticides are divided into 3 groups: natural, inorganic and organic. Based on mode of action, insecticides can be repellent or non-repellent.
