Interpretation:
The sequences found in the final mature mRNA has to be determined, and the structure of final mRNA has to be drawn.
Concept Introduction:
Transcription results in the synthesis of a primary transcript that undergoes some modification referred to as post-transcriptional modification. There are three kinds of post-transcriptional modifications that occur in eukaryotic primary transcripts, namely the addition of a 5′ cap structure and a 3′ poly (A) tail and the most significant is the RNA splicing.
In most of the eukaryotic genes, there are certain sequences that do not encode any amino acid for the protein. Hence they are removed off in a process known as RNA splicing. The sequences that are not coding to any amino acids are termed as introns, and the important protein-coding regions are called exons.
