The caffeine contained in the coffee is an inhibitor of the cyclic AMP phosphodiesterase. This inhibition affects the muscle contraction of the body. The caffeine when taken in amounts more than considered normal, it increases the free fatty acid concentration in the body of the consumer. This is due to the increase in the lipid metabolism. The caffeine affects the contractile properties of the body muscles directly. The inhibition of the cAMP phosphodiesterase by caffeine is responsible for this delay in fatigue in the muscles.
