Assignment of cost to Units completed and Ending Work in process inventory:

In Process costing, after computing the equivalent units and cost per equivalent unit, the next step is to allocate the cost to units completed and units in process at the end of period. This has to be done by multiplying the equivalent units of each element with respective cost per unit and then adding it up. This step has to be done for both units completed and units in process at the end of period.

The Cost of units transferred out of Assembly department and cost of ending work in process inventory.
