Signal is an output of any system or physical quantity that varies depending upon time, pressure or temperature like any independent variable of input given.

Example of static input signals:

  1. Y(t) = 5X(t) + 17;
  2. Here, the output at tth instant depends on the input at the same tth instant. Hence, the given system is static system.
  3. Y(t) = 7X(t) + X2(t) + 5;
  4. Here also, the output at tth instant depends on the input at the same tth instant. Hence, the given system is static system.

Example of dynamic input signals:

  1. Y(t) = 3X(t+2) + 10X(t);
  2. Here the output at tth instant depends on the same instant as well as on future instant also.
  3. Y(t) = 5X(t-3) + 3X(t) + 6;
  4. Here the output at tth instant depends on the same instant as well as on past instant also.
