Application architectures:

  • Application architectures explain the behavior of the applications that are used in business and concentrate on how the systems communicate with each other and with users.
  • It focuses on the data consumed and produced by the applications and not on the internal structure.

Explanation of Solution

Types of computer architectures:

  • Host based architectures:
    • Host-based was the first application architecture that was developed in 1960s
    • In this architecture, the server acts as a mainframe that performs all four application program functions.
  • Client-based architectures:
    • In this architecture, the clients are the personal computers on a LAN and the server is also a personal computer, present on the same network.
    • The application software. Present on the client computers are responsible for the presentation logic, the application logic, and the data access logic whereas the server only stores the data.
  • Client-server architectures:
    • These were developed to balance the processing between the server and the client by making both do some of the logic.
    • In this architecture, the client accepts the requests and performs the application logic that produces the database requests that get transmitted to the server.
    • The server accepts the database requests and performs the data access logic, then sends the result to the client where the client software accepts the results and displays them to the user.
  • Cloud computing architectures:
    • These architectures outsource a part or the entire infrastructure to other organizations that focus on managing that infrastructure.
    • There are three types of cloud-based architecture, they are:
      • Software as a Service (SaaS)
      • Platform as a Service (PaaS)
      • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • Peer-to-peer architectures(P2P):
    • In this architecture, all the computers act as client and server which allow all the computers to perform all the four functions.
    • One of the advantages of the P2P architecture is that the data can be installed anywhere and anytime on the network.

From the following mass-spring system, obtain its transfer function and pole-zero diagram in MATLAB. Analyze how stability varies when entering values. wwwww R -0000 e(t) i(t) e(t) is the input variable, and the voltage across the capacitor is the controlled variable.
Conduct a comprehensive study on Botnet networks, focusing on their architecture and functionality. Provide a detailed analysis of their control mechanisms via C2 (Command and Control) structures, and classify the different types of Botnets (centralized, decentralized, hybrid). Explain their primary uses in offensive contexts and discuss the evolution of detection and mitigation techniques in light of technological advancements in cybersecurity. Additional Note: Design a complete Botnet simulator using Python programming, including both the C2 server and the bot client. Demonstrate how the bots connect to the server, and how commands are sent and received between them.
