Concept introduction
In earlier times, when unscientific thinking dominated the world, some beliefs were seen as the ultimate truth. However, with the introduction of careful observation of facts and research, unscientific beliefs, which were acknowledged as gospel truth, started to be rejected.

Explanation of Solution
Suggested response
One might consider that in earlier times, the belief that women were seen and treated as the
weaker sex was accepted by all. They were not allowed to do things which a man could do and were restricted to activities which were considered women-centric such as cooking and looking after children. However, this belief was dismissed when research showed that women are equally capable of taking up jobs and tasks once only limited to men. Not only did they engage in those jobs, but also excelled in them.
Another consideration might be that abnormal behavior in ancient times was seen as a result of possession by evil spirits or demons. Many unscientific techniques were used to dispel the evil spirit. However, as the world advanced and people started thinking scientifically, more logical explanations, such as physiological factors or stress, were seen as the cause behind mental or psychological abnormality.
Assumptions and beliefs based on unscientific thinking continue to change and be disproved through the means of scientific research.
