Meredith is going through adolescence and thisinfluences her response post-diagnosis of type-1 diabetes. Adolescence is challenging for a children as they go through emotional and sexual changes and want to fit in. For diabetic teens, being different from their peers is emotionally stressful, which causes them to become moody and sad. It also affects their social interaction with their peers and family members.
