It may be a bad idea to get a language designed by a committee because of the following reasons:
- Involvement of so many people in a language design may result in a bad design.
- Every person would have their own opinion on how the program should behave once it is executed, syntax followed, and so on.
- History has proven time and again that languages like ALGOL 68, PL/I and Ada are all designed by committees.
- These did not fulfill the expectations of a good
programming design that could have been scaled.
- These did not fulfill the expectations of a good
- Most of the successful languages were raised, rather than planned and designed.
- This means that when there are lots of people using it for development purposes, they come up with extensions and requirements on their own.
- These lead to development of APIs, usable functions enhancements, and so on.
