Summary Introduction
Introduction: Some of the proteins are inactive when they are synthesized in the cell. For them to become active, the enzymes must chop off one or more portions of the molecule. The inactive form of the protein is identified with the prefix “pro,” for example: prohormone, proenzyme, and proinsulin. Some other inactive enzymes have the suffix “ogen” added to the name of the active enzyme, for example: trypsinogen, which is an inactive form of trypsin.
