Concept explainers
Introduction: Tumor is an abnormal tissue mass that may be solid or fluid-filled lumps. Malignant tumors refer to cancerous tumors, where the abnormal cells divide rapidly and metastasize to new areas. The severity of a malignant tumor depends on the tumor location, and how fast it can metastasize. The general combining forms for cancer include carcin/o which means cancer, and sarc/o which means malignant tumor of the connective tissue.
