Explanation of Solution

In the given case, Person E was with a group of friends at a dance and bumps into a man that she dated last month. But she cannot remember the guy’s name when she tries to introduce him to her friends. This type of common occurrence is called as tip-of-the-phenomenon.

Tip-of-the-phenomenon is a common occurrence that represents the difficulties to retrieve information stored in long-term memory. Names and other memories cannot be recalled every time because of so much of information stored in long-term memory.
